Our customers often comment on our friendly and personable approach, and we certainly believe that great people make a great business. Each month we profile people from around our organisation to find out who they are and what makes them tick. In the spotlight this month it’s Diane deBlasi, Sales Director for the London region.

Q1. How long have you worked for OfficeTeam? If you’re new to the business, where did you work previously?
I have worked for OfficeTeam for over 17 years, I transferred from PADS over 4 years ago after the business was acquired.

Q2. Tell us about your day-to-day job. What does your role involve?
As one of two Regional Sales Directors in London and South East, my role is very varied.   No two days are alike, I am responsible for a superb sales team who offer a great range of products and services which includes stationery, print, furniture, workwear, workplace, managed print services and file and data archive.   Tail management is our latest offering and we are already encouraged by the results at this early stage.

Q3. What do you enjoy most about your job?
The people, definitely the people. I really feel that we have some of the best people in the industry working for OfficeTeam.  My team are extremely focused and dedicated. There is no ‘I’ in team and our team are second to none.  Recently I employed a new Regional Sales Manager, Nathan Kelsey who is proving to be a very worthwhile investment.

Q4. Tell us something we don’t know about you…
I haven’t always worked in stationery, my background previously was recruitment and advertising.

Q5. How would your colleagues describe you?
DEMANDING, focused, driven, supportive and all about the team!

Q6. Which OfficeTeam value do you most identify with and why?
Dedicated – it takes dedication in a tough market to keep going and win.  There are lots of qualities needed to succeed but without dedication very rarely will you achieve your goals.

Q7. What’s your proudest achievement?
My daughter, she’s brilliant!  Reminds me of how lucky I am.

Q8. What’s your ambition?
To see the Region continue growing and the goals we have set out and strategy put together come to fruition.  Our team have worked very hard and it would be great to see an outstanding result in 2013 for both our team and the rest of the OfficeTeam.

Q9. What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Spending time with my family, the simple things, out for a walk, a meal,  spending time together.  I also have a love of dancing, preferably Salsa!

Q10. If you were CEO… what would you do?
Continue to grow a strong back office support and develop the relationship between external sales and internal teams.  Strengthening this relationship can only enhance our teamwork and therefore improve how we interact with our customers.  We are  one team and our customers know it!
