Our customers often comment on our friendly and personable approach, and we certainly believe that great people make a great business. Each month we profile people from around our organisation to find out who they are and what makes them tick. In the spotlight this month it’s Kieran Walsh, Business Development Director – OyezTeam.

1. How long have you worked for OfficeTeam? 

I  have been with the company nearly 20 years.

2. Tell us about your job. What does your role involve?

My current role is Business Development Director for OyezTeam, where I am working to drive our sales focus in our largest vertical market the Legal Sector. Working closely with Oyez Professional Services and the OfficeTeam Sales Force I am focusing our new business drive on new opportunities in this sector and using our heritage & differentiators to improve legal customer retention.

3. What do you enjoy most about your job?

I am really enjoying working with a sector that we know inside out and where our name is so well respected. This has already opened new doors and is enthusing those members of the sales force who have a large proportion of legal customers.

4. Tell us something we don’t know about you.

I am the third of 4 sons from an Irish Catholic Family – our mother wanted one of us to be a priest and in this area we all disappointed her!

5. How would your colleagues describe you?

I hope knowledgeable, enthusiastic, hard working, and always loud!

6. Which OfficeTeam value do you most identify with, and why?

Passionate – I love what I do in driving a difference in our sales results and I hope that is seen in my daily activity and work.

7. What’s your proudest achievement (can be work or personal)?

My wife putting up with me for 27 years, plus our twin sons David & James.

8. What’s your ambition?

To continue to make sure OfficeTeam is a true leader in our industry and that OyezTeam really does drive new sales and opportunities for us in the Legal sector.

9. What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

If I had more time and money would love to travel more – I am married to a Kiwi after all. Plus I love my Rugby (I support a local team near me in Orpington – Westcombe Park RFC) also I drive my family mad with my love of photography.

10. If you were CEO… what would you do? Name one thing you would do to improve processes, save the company money, improve the customer experience, make work more fun etc.

Need to drive more enthusiasm and fun back into OfficeTeam. Very hard to do easily in these challenging times but one step could be to arrange a period of joint working between the internal and external staff – with a buddy up programme and joint visits to customers so the internal staff get a better understanding of the clients and their current drivers (especially the current need everywhere to save money).
