Gursel Ziynettin OfficeTeam’s tender / bid writer recently used his OfficeTeam volunteering day to help out a local schools sports event.
Gursel is the treasurer and on the management committee of his local sports club in Wallington. The club recognises that not only should it encourage the local community to play sports but also has a responsibility to be a good neighbour. Therefore, it offers its facilities to a local school for a host of after school sporting activities such as football training, cricket practice and rounders.
As part of this, the club hosts the schools sports day for the juniors and infants, welcoming their parents and giving them the chance to watch their children participate. Gursel thought this would be a great opportunity to use his OfficeTeam volunteering day to help the local school by opening up the club and being there during the day to cater for the parents, children and teachers with teas and coffees and soft drinks.
Unfortunately the sun didn’t come out to play for the Sports Day, so it meant hot chocolates all round instead of ice creams but everyone had a great time and we look forward to welcoming the school back next year.
