Soho House

Who are Soho House?

Soho House Group was founded in 1995 as a private members’ club for those in the film and media industries. Located in the heart of Soho, Soho House is a discreet getaway for members to enjoy good food and service. The club is home to a restaurant, three dining rooms, Circle and Club Bars and the House Kitchen. The group also trade under various well known restaurant brands such as Cecconis, Cafe Boheme, Pizza East, Dean Street Townhouse, High Road House, Babington House and Shoreditch House to name but a few.

The challenge

Soho house wanted to identify cost savings and product rationalisation by consolidating their supply chain. They previously dealt with three different suppliers and had agreements which had been in place for 5 years. It became apparent that they were paying a premium for a reactive service rather than a structured solution.

In addition they required a bespoke online ordering solution that would sit alongside the stationery contract, reduce the number of deliveries made and provide a free next day delivery service.

A more proactive approach to supplier management was required within the contract whilst maintaining print quality and the integrity of their corporate identity. Soho House’s demographic is Media elite and so it was imperative that any re-engineering of product to attain cost savings would not be to the detriment of the overall quality which is the cornerstone of their prestigious brand.

The solution

PrintTeam recommended a full audit of their print-related invoices over 13 different brands and multiple locations and were able to demonstrate considerable savings. We proposed a solution to meet Soho House’s price, service and quality demands whilst streamlining their management process.

As part of the implementation, we developed a tailor-made, stock-managed solution for Soho House which we implemented seamlessly. As a result, through PrintTeam financing fast moving lines, we’ve been able to dramatically improve cash flow. Furthermore, by consolidating their supplier base, we deliver directly to their restaurants with fewer deliveries being made.

We have also introduced a user friendly, intuitive online ordering system so that Soho House can order printed menus on the same portal as their Office Supplies. Soho House now benefit from one monthly invoice which has reduced unnecessary administration time. They receive comprehensive Management Information for each brand which has reduced invoice processing costs further and give headline information which assists in budgetary control.

By leveraging our buying power and tonnage capabilities as well as rationalising printed substrates to fewer paper types, we’ve been able to achieve savings of 25%.
