SPICERS VACANCY – JOB DESCRIPTION
Milton Keynes Office
To expedite the delivery and booking in of purchase orders, ensuring that deliveries are scheduled in order of priority.
Maintain regular contact with suppliers and discuss their operational performance.
Close liaison with the Warehouse Administration Departments, as well as the Inventory Team.
Make Inventory Planners aware of specific product and supplier problems.
Maintain accurate delivery dates on the warehouse transactional system.
Assist the department in meeting KPI’s for availability, line-fill and stock levels.
Major Job Challenges:
Establish professional working relationships with vendors that allow Spicers to receive best possible service from them.
Ensuring pro-active response from vendors when expediting deliveries.
Prioritising goods in flow to meet departmental targets, within Spicers warehouse operational capabilities.
Work closely with the Inventory and Customer Service teams.
Knowledge, Skills and Experiences Required:
MS Office applications, particularly Excel
Understanding of the supply chain
EDI order transmission application
Assertive and effective communicator with a pleasant telephone manner
Good time management
Strong organisational ability
Management of workload by priority
Ability to work to tight time scales
Working within a team
Highly developed customer service skills
Forecasting & Replenishment
Analysis of data to identify priorities and anomalies and then take appropriate action.
Human Relations Skills:
Needs good communication skills and is required to deal with supplier personnel at all levels.
Open mind and capable of thinking laterally. Ability to assimilate data from various I.T. systems, compare and identify anomalies that affect product availability and order fulfilment.
A major contributor to the Company’s supply chain planning, responsible for providing accurate information to meet the requirements of the business.
