St Austell Brewery had many suppliers for stationery, janitorial and workwear which lead to costs spiralling out of control. Products that were ordered also had extensive lead times especially from rogue suppliers.

Their business was in need of a solution where they could consolidate their supply chain as well as reduce costs, increase budget control and ensure that there was a good management reporting system in place.

The Solution

OfficeTeam provided St Austell Brewery the key to consolidating their supply chain for stationery, janitorial and workwear products.

Our bespoke online ordering system (OT Connect) for the brewery was set with specific budgetary limits to control spend. The system also allowed relevant teams to source the correct products for their day to day tasks.

We understand the importance of next day availability and for St Austell Brewery this was paramount to their business. This service reduced the need for the brewery to hold vast levels of stock such as Janitorial and Workwear lines on site.

We also implemented a management report system which enables them to consistently monitor and track their expenditure, ensuring that the correct processes are being followed.

St Austell Brewery was founded in 1851 by Cornishman Walter Hicks. Today, it remains 100% independent and family owned, and operates a growing and diverse business.

Not only are they famous for their award winning beers but they also have their Pub Estate spanning the West Country, Free Trade Sales, National and International trade and Training to consider. Behind all this is a team of over 1,000 full and part time employees plus many more partners and customers.
